PROSSER, Wash. (AP) - A second Prosser School District employee has been placed on leave after posting Facebook comments about last week’s Day Without Immigrants protests.

The Tri-City Herald reports (https://goo.gl/2pc3yS ) that an assistant librarian at Prosser Heights Elementary School was suspended Tuesday. The librarian had written she “loved it” that so many children stayed out of school to participate in the nationwide event because there were no “out of control kids” and added, “I hope they can do it again soon.”

A teacher at a different elementary school in the heavily Latino district was suspended Friday after writing that the protest was a “great idea” because it would make it easier to identify illegal immigrants. Her post included contact information for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Superintendent Ray Tolcacher said the suspensions were due to concerns about the safety and security of students and staff.
