Just like a bad, unwanted penny, former President Barack Obama couldn’t last 10 days before resurfacing to seek public attention (“It begins: Obama criticizes Trump a little more than one week after leaving office,” Web, Jan. 30). Having occupied the White House for eight years, he left office leaving our country, by any measure, worse off than when he entered it. Given his legacy of failure, Mr. Obama now presumes to pontificate and instruct his successor on how to conduct his presidency.

As many suspected, Mr. Obama’s ego will not permit him to go gracefully into the night because he demands the limelight. He will come to be known as the cold sore ex-president: Just when you think he’s gone, he’s back to bother you again.
