WASHINGTON (AP) - A faculty member and administrator at the University of the District of Columbia has died after a fire at his home in Washington’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.

The Washington Post (https://tinyurl.com/gtrgxdz) reports that 75-year-old John Slack died Friday at a hospital. He was critically injured in the fire at his home a week earlier.

Police say the fire has been rule accidental. A second man was also critically injured in the fire.

Slack was the director of public health and health education at UDC’s College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences.
