TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - A New Jersey woman has been sentenced to six months in jail after pleading guilty to stealing more than $100,000 in Social Security benefits for eight years after her mother died.

Attorney General Christopher Porrino announced Friday that 59-year-old Linda Miller was sentenced to time in county jail and five years of probation. Miller already served the jail sentence.

She pleaded guilty in December to theft by deception after prosecutors say she withdrew money sent to her late mother’s bank account from after she died in May 2006 to July 2014.

Prosecutors say she stole $128,131

She also pleaded guilty to fraudulently collecting her mother’s pension benefits from New York state.
