OPINION:
“I mean because Planned Parenthood, we’re nonpartisan,” Cecile Richards, the organization’s president, told Mika Brzezinski on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” earlier this month about her willingness to work with the Trump administration. “We believe the most important thing is that women in this country get access to the health care that they need.”
Nonpartisan? Really, Ms. Richards?
On Thursday, The Hill reported that Planned Parenthood is planning nearly 100 rallies and events during congressional recess to protest GOP lawmakers in their hometowns.
“Starting on Saturday as lawmakers head back to their home states for Presidents Day, the women’s health organization will be holding rallies, events and town halls across the country — many of them organized by supporters through Planned Parenthood’s ’Defenders’ program,” The Hill reported.
Rallies are specifically planned in Nevada, where Republican Sen. Dan Heller is up for re-election in 2018, and is one of the biggest targets for Democrats.
How is all of this nonpartisan?
It isn’t. All of it’s a joke.
Planned Parenthood has always been an arm of the Democratic Party, one of their key grassroots activists. Rolling Stone wrote about how the baby aborter spent $30 million to help get Hillary Clinton elected president and Ms. Richards was one of Mrs. Clinton’s biggest boosters, stating on the campaign trail: “This isn’t just about electing the first woman president, it’s about electing this woman president.”
So now they’re back at it — protesting Republicans, all the while collecting federal taxpayer funding and proclaiming they’re nonpartisan.
Irrespective of your politics, this doesn’t seem couth.
