Rep. Devin Nunes, the chairman of the House intelligence committee, said most of the recent intel leaks are likely originating from people who worked in the Obama administration.

“It’s not just about what leaked — the transcripts that leaked on General [Michael] Flynn,” Mr. Nunes, California Republican, said on Wednesday’s “Hannity” program on Fox News. “It’s also about the transcripts [of] Donald Trump talking to the Mexican president, talking to the Australian prime minister — those also leaked.”

“So this is a state here that’s falling apart, and it’s totally unacceptable for anyone within government to be doing this,” he said. “I think most of this is probably from people who were in the old administration, but there still could be some people that have burrowed in and are providing classified information to the media.”

“If you really look at these leaks … it looks like these original leaks that were leaked to the media happened in the beginning of January,” Mr. Nunes said.

Speaking about former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn Wednesday, President Trump slammed what he described as illegal leaks.

“From intelligence, papers are being leaked, things are being leaked, it’s criminal action, a criminal act,” Mr. Trump said. “It’s been going on for a long time, before me, but now it’s really going on. People are trying to cover up for a terrible loss that the Democrats had under Hillary Clinton.”
