LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (AP) - Detectives are still investigating the death of a central New York man whose body was discovered last week at a recycling plant outside Syracuse.
Authorities have identified the victim as 25-year-old Christopher Azzara, of Cicero.
Onondaga County Sheriff’s detectives were called to the recycling plant on Friday after a Waste Management employee discovered the body inside a bale of recyclable material. An autopsy conducted by the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Azzara died from “multiple blunt force crushing injuries.”
Sheriff’s department spokesman Sgt. Jon Seeber says the death does not appear to be the result of foul play.
Seeber tells The Post-Standard of Syracuse that Azzara was homeless . Investigators think he may have climbed into a dumpster to sleep and was carted to the plant.
