WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) - Jacob Kessler scored a season-high 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds and Army snapped a three-game skid with a 52-47 upset of Holy Cross in a Patriot League battle Wednesday night.
Kessler scored on a layup with 49 seconds left in the first half to give the Black Knights a 32-25 advantage at intermission, but Robert Champion hit a jumper, a 3-pointer and converted a 3-point play to open the second half to give Holy Cross the lead, 33-32. Thomas Funk answered with a trey to give Army (10-17, 4-11) a lead it never relinquished.
Holy Cross held Lehigh to a season-low 45 points in a 61-45 win Sunday, but the Crusaders (13-15, 7-8) now have lost three of their last four games and are in fifth-place in the Patriot League, a game ahead of idle Loyola (Md.).
Champion finished with 21 points to lead the Crusaders.
