JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - A 14-year-old has been charged as an adult in two armed carjackings and police are looking for a possible accomplice.

The Clarion-Ledger reports (https://on.thec-l.com/2kqKWid ) Meshard Johnson is accused in a Jan. 11 incident at Baptist Hospital in which authorities say he took a Ford Mustang at gunpoint. Police said he struck the victim with his gun, injuring her.

On Jan. 16, police investigated another carjacking at Chadwick Nursing and Rehab center. Police said Johnson and a second suspect were involved. Both fled in the victim’s 2016 Volkswagen Passat. That victim was not injured.

Officers stopped Johnson Saturday, recovered a handgun from his waistband and identified him as the suspect in the carjackings. He was arrested on two counts of armed carjacking and is being held at the Hinds County Jail.
