GARDEN CITY, Idaho (AP) - Garden City police says a 26-year-old man accused of burglary was arrested after employees of the shop spotted him inside the business and held him until officers arrived.

The Idaho Statesman says Andrew Middleton faces felony charges of burglary and malicious injury to property. He is being held at Ada County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.

Police say workers had returned Friday evening to the business, which had been closed and locked, and found a man inside. Police did not identify the business.

Police say Middleton appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Employees estimated the damage to the business at several thousand dollars.

Police commended the employees for their bravery but also warned that confronting burglary suspects can be dangerous.
