SAN MARCOS, Texas (AP) - Kavin Gilder-Tilbury had 15 points, including a key 3-pointer late, and Texas State made 9 of 12 foul shots in the final minute to hold off Little Rock for a 56-49 win on Saturday night.
Nijal Pearson added 13 points for the Bobcats (14-9, 7-4 Sun Belt), who led 41-29 on Bobby Conley’s pair of free throws with 3:21 left. After that, the Trojans (13-12, 4-8) scored 20 of their 49 total points but got no closer than 44-40 with 1:36 to go.
Gilder-Tilbury’s 3-pointer with 1:08 left pushed the lead to 47-40 and Texas State maintained at least a five-point advantage from there at the foul line.
Kemy Osse had 13 points and Marcus Johnson Jr. scored 11 for Little Rock.
The Trojans started the night 2 for 14 from the field and had a 25-minute stretch leading into the closing minutes in which they went 4 for 23.
