SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Sale Lake County’s real estate business is the strongest it’s been since the Great Recession.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2kPPCxz ) Tuesday that Salt Lake Board of Realtors spokesman Dave Anderton says sales of single-family homes increased by 1.3 percent in 2016 from the previous year. Fourth-quarter sales also increased by more than 5 percent during that time.
Anderton says the median sale price of single-family homes in the county was $290,000, about 8 percent more than a year earlier.
The most expensive homes were in the Salt Lake City area, where homes sold for a median price of $525,000.
Anderton says the more affordable cities of Clearfield, Tooele, Farr West, Taylorsville and Lehi were the most popular for home buyers.
Slight decreases in home prices were recorded in Draper, Sandy and the eastern part of Salt Lake City.
