ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont town is about to begin a three year re-appraisal of all of its property.

St. Johnsbury has contracted New England Municipal Consultants to do the job which is expected to be completed by 2020. The Caledonian-Record reports the last time the town conducted a property re-appraisal was in 2009.

Residents will receive a notice in the mail when re-appraisal inspectors are in their area. After gathering the data, NEMC will conduct an analysis of properties sold within a three-year period.

St. Johnsbury Selectman Kevin Oddy says the town decided to start the re-appraisal process now because the state was growing concerned with changes in local property values.

The St. Johnsbury Assessor’s office says residents can send them questions about the upcoming re-appraisal
