Radio host Mark Levin says Americans who witnessed President Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel saw something that will be studied “for the rest of time.”
The host of “LevinTV” told fans Wednesday that Mr. Trump did something “very rare” by moving the U.S. embassy in Tel Aviv to Jerusalem: The commander in chief planted a historical flag that will not get lost in the sands of time.
Cheers from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, coupled with protests in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, certainly cemented its significance for the foreseeable future.
“I want to thank the president for doing something his recent predecessors refused to do, and that is recognize reality,” the CRTV host said in promotional material posted on Facebook. “He will go down in history in the Middle East, in Israel, for 1,000 years. … You watched history — true history — history that will have an effect or be remembered 1,000 years from now, and that’s very, very rare. … It will be remembered in the Middle East. The scholars, the Hebrew scholars, will be writing about this. It will be in their books for the rest of time.”
Mr. Netanyahu echoed that sentiment earlier in the day when he praised the “historic landmark.”
Presidents dating back to Bill Clinton have used waivers to delay implementation of the Jerusalem Embassy Act, which Congress passed in 1995.
“While previous presidents have made this a major campaign promise, they failed to deliver,” Mr. Trump told reporters Wednesday. “Today, I am delivering.”
In addition to his radio and CRTV shows, Mr. Levin finalized a Fox News Channel contract in November.
“Life, Liberty and Levin” will debut at 10 p.m. EST in February.
