LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Latest on a special election to fill a Los Angeles-area seat in the California Assembly (all times local):

Wendy Carrillo leads Luis Lopez after early returns in a special election for a Los Angeles-area seat in the California Assembly.
Carrillo had 55 percent of the vote and Lopez had 45 percent after mail-in ballots and votes from some precincts were counted.
Carrillo is a former union organizer and radio host who has the endorsement of the state Democratic party and finished first among 13 candidates in the election’s first phase.
Lopez is a director at a Los Angeles-area hospital and had the endorsement of Planned Parenthood.
The two Democrats are seeking to fill the seat in the 51st Assembly District left vacant when Jimmy Gomez was elected to Congress.

Two Democrats are set to compete in a special election to fill a Los Angeles-area seat in the California Assembly.
Wendy Carrillo and Luis Lopez are the two names on the ballot Tuesday for the seat that includes the Echo Park, Silver Lake and Chinatown sections of LA.
Carrillo, a former union organizer and radio host, earned about 22 percent of the vote and finished first in the initial special election in October for the seat Jimmy Gomez vacated after he was elected to Congress.
The Los Angeles Times reports that Carrillo has lined up many powerful endorsements including the state Democratic Party.
Lopez, the director of government affairs for City of Hope Medical Center, has won the endorsement of Planned Parenthood, where he is a board member.
