BALTIMORE (AP) - Fire investigators say arson does not appear to be the cause of an explosion that leveled a vacant house in a Baltimore suburb.
Baltimore County fire investigators are probing a Tuesday blaze and explosion of a vacant property in a residential section of Woodlawn.
In a Wednesday statement, investigators say their preliminary probe has found “no obvious signs of arson.”
Two properties on either side of the house that blew up are uninhabitable. Roughly 10 adults and three children have been displaced. There were no injuries.
It was Baltimore County’s second home explosion this week. Investigators are also probing a Monday house explosion in Baltimore Highlands.
Baltimore Gas and Electric has checked for possible leaks. BGE spokeswoman Linda Foy has said there’s no indication the utility’s equipment was involved.
