Sen. Al Franken has been accused by a former congressional aide of trying to kiss her during a taping of his radio show in 2006, Politico reported.
The aide, who has withheld her name, said that her boss had just left the room when Mr. Franken moved in to kiss her. She said she ducked his lips, but he said to her as she left, “It’s my right as an entertainer.”
The woman said she did not respond to Mr. Franken’s comments and that prior to the encounter she had never met him.
It is the seventh woman to accuse the Minnesota Democrat of trying to forcibly kiss or grope her. He is currently under a Senate ethics review for his behavior, which he said he will “fully” cooperate with.
He denied the woman’s account of the 2006 incident, which took place before his election to the Senate.
“This allegation is categorically not true and the idea that I would claim this as my right as an entertainer is preposterous,” he said.
