TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Tucson say a suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting on Thanksgiving Day.

They say 37-year-old Lamont Adams has been booked into the Pima County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder.

He’s accused of killing 38-year-old Carlos Simmons, who was found on a sidewalk with obvious gunshot wounds.

Simmons was transported to a Tucson hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police say Simmons had been involved in an altercation with several other people near a midtown Tucson intersection before he was shot.

Detectives say they determined Adams allegedly was responsible for the shooting and he was arrested last Friday at an apartment complex.
