GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. (AP) - Authorities say the passenger killed in a car accident on snowy roads near Government Camp over the weekend was a 9-year-old boy.

The Oregon State Police said Tuesday that the boy from Redmond was riding in a Subaru that was struck by a Ford Excursion that crossed the centerline of Highway 26.

OSP did not release his name.

The agency says the driver of the Excursion appears to have lost control on the snow-covered highway in the Sunday accident.

Two adult passengers in the Subaru were hospitalized, one with critical injuries. Three people in the Excursion were not seriously hurt.

The accident is still under investigation and anyone who witnessed the collision who was not interviewed at the scene is asked to call authorities.
