On the same day that President Trump issued a full-throated endorsement of Alabama Senate hopeful Roy Moore, the Republican National Committee reversed itself and will start backing Mr. Moore after having pulled out of the race.

The RNC told several news outlets Monday evening, starting with Breitbart News, that it will start pouring resources into Alabama for the final week before the Dec. 12 special election in which Mr. Moore faces Democrat Doug Jones.

“RNC official confirms to me that national party is again ’involved’ in Roy Moore race. Will be sending money to Alabama GOP ’for their efforts,’” tweeted Henry Gomez of Buzzfeed.

Last month, in the wake of accusations of sexual misconduct with a minor and several teenagers surfaced against Mr. Moore, the RNC and the National Republican Senatorial Committee both announced they would nor raise funds or provide “ground game” or other campaign assistance to Mr. Moore.
