LANSING, Mich. (AP) - McLaren Health Care says it will consolidate its two current Lansing hospitals into a new $450 million campus adjacent to Michigan State University and expand its collaboration with the school.
McLaren announced Monday the new medical campus is forecast to open by late 2021 on land purchased from the MSU Foundation. The new hospital will replace McLaren Greater Lansing and McLaren Orthopedic Hospital.
Grand Blanc-based McLaren says the new medical campus will include a 240-bed hospital, a cancer center and an ambulatory care center. It says the campus eventually will house more than 1,000 physicians, researchers, educators and other members of an academic and medical team.
McLaren and MSU also say they’ll expand their partnerships on clinical research, education, and clinical services, including recruitment of researchers and medical personnel.
