BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Dozens of firefighters battled bitter cold conditions as well as flames when blazes broke out at two separate locations in the same Buffalo neighborhood.
Fire officials say the first blaze started around 8 p.m. Wednesday at a storefront building in the city’s Black Rock neighborhood. The fire spread to buildings on either side before the blaze was brought under control.
Two adults and three children were displaced, but no injuries were reported.
The second fire broke out in a home on a nearby street around 1 a.m. Thursday, and many of the same firefighters also battled that blaze. The fire was out in about two hours.
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries. No one else was hurt.
The causes of both fires are being investigated.
Temperatures in Buffalo were in the single digits during the fires.
