JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - Alaska’s unemployment rate for November stood at 7.2 percent, unchanged since August.

Federal labor statistics show the state’s preliminary, seasonally adjusted rate for last month compares to an unemployment rate of 6.6 percent in November 2016.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Alaska’s unemployment rate is at its highest levels since May 2012, when it was also 7.2 percent.

The state labor department says that while job losses continue in Alaska, they have “moderated noticeably” in the second half of this year.

Nationally, the unemployment rate for November was 4.1 percent.
