MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The dean of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business is resigning after just one semester.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports that Dean Anne Massey told faculty and staff she’ll join the faculty after her resignation takes effect Dec. 31.

Massey faced a backlash in October when the school proposed halting admissions to its full-time MBA program as part of an overhaul to grow the school’s undergraduate and specialized Master’s programs. The school backed off a week later.

Massey said in an email to faculty and staff Monday that her resignation will allow Chancellor Rebecca Blank to pursue her own vision.

The search for a permanent new dean will start in fall 2018.
