OPINION:
Sen. Mark Warner deserves credit (“Top Intel Dem warns against ’reckless’ talk of Mueller firing,” Web, Dec. 20). It takes a lot of chutzpah to very publicly censure as “irresponsible and reckless” anyone calling for the dismissal of special counsel Robert Mueller without even a hint of objective modesty.
In fact, given the slew of compelling evidentiary revelations about Mr. Mueller’s team — and the clearly partisan behavior by both FBI and Justice Department personnel regarding Mr. Mueller’s investigation — taking Mr. Warner seriously requires the willing ’suspension of disbelief’ that he could make such a statement. But alas, he doubled down and further insisted, “The charges that some have made that somehow Democratic political bias has crept in this investigation are baseless given the makeup of the leadership team.”
Come on, senator. The voting public now knows better. Mr. Mueller’s investigation is fouled.
