MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos says he’s open to an expanded investigation into how former workers at the now-defunct Government Accountability Board handled secret John Doe investigations involving Gov. Scott Walker and Republicans.
Vos said Wednesday he wants “to put this issue to bed.”
Vos supports Attorney General Brad Schimel’s recommendation that six former GAB workers and three others be found in contempt for violating judicial orders related to the John Doe probes. Vos and Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald are also calling for the current heads of the state Ethics and Elections commission to resign.
Fitzgerald on Tuesday called for an expanded investigation into former GAB workers.
Vos says he’s open to that, but does not think everyone who ever worked at the GAB should be investigated.
