GILFORD, N.H. (AP) - Live Nation Entertainment has acquired a significant stake in the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion, a 9,000-seat amphitheater on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee.

Originally known as Meadowbrook, the pavilion held its first concert - Johnny Cash - in 1997. Pavilion President Robert “R.J.” Harding tells The Laconia Daily Sun the venue has grown by reinvesting profits into the facility and operation. He said the partnership with Live Nation “will open a lot of doors for us as far as talent.”

Live Nation’s investment represents a 51 percent share in Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion. Don Law, president of Live Nation New England, said the Pavilion is a very unique and special venue, and the global entertainment company looks forward to helping it grow.
