President Trump cheered the Senate passage of a GOP tax-cut bill early Wednesday morning and announced a 1 p.m. press conference after final approval by House.

“The United States Senate just passed the biggest in history Tax Cut and Reform Bill. Terrible Individual Mandate (ObamaCare)Repealed,” Mr. Trump tweeted after the overnight vote.

The tax cuts will be the first major legislative victory of the Trump presidency and are headed to his desk ahead of the Christmas deadline set by Mr. Trump.

Minor changes to the bill to satisfy Senate rules required the House to again vote on the bill. It is expected to easily pass the revote.

“Goes to the House [Wednesday] morning for final vote. If approved, there will be a News Conference at The White House at approximately 1:00 P.M.,” the president tweeted.

Later, the president slammed “fake news” and Democrats for disparaging the tax cut bill.

“The Tax Cuts are so large and so meaningful, and yet the Fake News is working overtime to follow the lead of their friends, the defeated Dems, and only demean. This is truly a case where the results will speak for themselves, starting very soon. Jobs, Jobs, Jobs!” Mr. Trump tweeted.
