BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Matt Mobley scored 25 points and Jaylen Adams made his return for St. Bonaventure in a 73-62 win over Buffalo on Saturday.
Adams, a senior guard who is a two-time all-conference pick and on the watch list for three national player of the year awards, started and played in his first game this season after being sidelined with a sprained ankle. He and Mobley are the nation’s top returning scoring duo. He finished with nine points, four rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes. Courtney Stockard had 13 points and nine rebounds off the bench for the Bonnies (5-2).
CJ Massinburg and Nick Peters each scored 21 points for the Bulls (4-3), who were hoping for a sweep of Big Four opponents after wins over Canisius and Niagara this season.
Buffalo led 35-32 at halftime but St. Bonaventure rallied to lead over the final 9:51. Perkins made a 3-pointer with 39 seconds left to get Buffalo within six but the Bonnies then made 7 of 8 free throws to clinch it.
