The NBA’s LeBron James brought black and white “equality” shoes onto the court this weekend before issuing another political attack on the commander in chief.
The Cleveland Cavaliers star who showed up at an Ohio campaign event for failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016 has made a habit of jabbing at President Trump since his election. James was at it again on Sunday after his team’s 106-99 victory over the Washington Wizards.
“This is a beautiful country and we’re never going to let one person dictate how beautiful and how powerful we are,” the three-time NBA champion said after playing the first half in “equality shoes.”
“Obviously, I’ve been … very outspoken and well-spoken about the situation that’s going on at the helm here,” he continued, Fox News reported. “Equality is all about understanding our rights, understanding what we stand for and how powerful we are as men and as women, black or white or Hispanic. It doesn’t matter your race.”
James previously attributed Mr. Trump’s 2016 election victory to “goofy votes,” and has called the president a “bum.”
“I didn’t play well in the first half, and I’m very superstitious, so I took ’em off,” James continued. “I didn’t play well in the second half, either, so if there was a third half, I would have took those off.”
The star finished the game with 20 points.
