SEATTLE (AP) - Jordan Hill hit six 3-pointers and finished with 23 points, both career highs, to help Seattle beat Portland 89-76 on Saturday night for its seventh consecutive home win.
Matej Kavas added 18 points, including four 3-pointers, and Aaron Menzies had 16 points and eight rebounds for Seattle (8-5).
Menzies scored six points during a 14-4 run to open the second half that was capped by Hill’s 3-point play and gave the Redhawks a 52-46 lead. Malcolm Porter made a layup to pull Portland within two points with 14 minutes to go, but Menzies had a layup and a dunk to bookend an 8-0 spurt that made it 60-50 two minutes later. The Pilots trailed by at least seven points from there as Seattle hit seven of its season-high 16 3-pointers in the final nine-plus minutes.
Marcus Shaver Jr. led Portland (4-5) with 20 points and D’Marques Tyson added 18.
The Redhawks made 10 of their first 14 second-half field-goal attempts and shot 60.6 percent (20 of 33) after the break.
