Deputy White House press secretary Hogan Gidley said Friday that President Trump is supportive of federal law enforcement agencies despite learning of biases against him from some agents.
“The president is absolutely supportive of and has full faith and confidence in the rank and file members of the DOJ and also the FBI,” Mr. Gidley said on Fox News.
He added that recent revelations that an FBI agent investigating Hillary Clinton had obvious bias against Mr. Trump was “troubling.” Text messages released by the Department of Justice show FBI Agent Peter Strzok had a strong dislike of Mr. Trump. referring to him as “a loathsome human.”
Mr. Strzok was assigned to work on special counsel Robert Mueller’s team, but was later reassigned when the texts were revealed.
“It is troubling, deeply troubling, that revelations have now come to light that there is extreme bias against this president,” Mr. Gidley said.
