Departing White House aide Omarosa Manigault Newman has promised a “black woman civil war” against “Good Morning America” co-host Robin Roberts after the ABC News personality belittled her at the end of an exclusive interview.
Ms. Roberts dismissed Mrs. Manigault Newman with the sarcastic phrase “Bye, Felicia” — a line from the 1995 film “Friday” that has become a pop culture insult — after the Trump aide’s appearance on GMA on Thursday.
“That was petty,” Mrs. Manigault Newman told “Inside Edition” when asked about the remark. “It’s a black woman civil war.”
Mrs. Manigault Newman had granted the interview to GMA’s Michael Strahan to tell her side of her Tuesday night ouster from the White House. She refuted reports of being “dragged” away from the White House grounds after a stormy meeting with White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly, but said she has a “profound” behind-the-scenes story to tell about West Wing operations.
Ms. Roberts scoffed at her interview moments after the segment ended.
“She says she has a story to tell, and I’m sure she will be selling that story. Yeah. Bye, Felicia,” Ms. Roberts said.
