SEATTLE (AP) - The mother of a man who was shot dead by Seattle police officers following a car chase is disputing the police’s account of the shooting.

Kimberly Gray told The Seattle Times on Thursday that the shooting of 24-year-old Kyle M. Gray was “unreal, unbelievable; they did it like a firing line.”

Kimberly Gray watched the video of her son’s shooting, which police made public Wednesday. Gray says her son did not have a gun in his hand.

Authorities say Kyle Gray was involved in an armed robbery at Northgate Mall on Monday, and he fired multiple shots at the officers while fleeing.

The pursuit ended at Magnuson Park, and police say officers opened fire because he got out of the car with a gun.

Seattle police are investigating the shooting.
