The resurrection of stale, unsubstantiated sexual-harassment allegations are just the latest attempt to drive President Trump from office. Mr. Trump’s resignation has been called for and demands have been made for an investigation. But there is nothing to investigate. There is merely a desire for smear campaign employing rehashed stories.

Some say that the women involved deserve to be heard. Well, the allegations were heard before the election and dismissed and rejected by the voters. This matter is not like the case of soon-to-be former-Sen. Al Franken; there the misdeeds were not revealed to the voters before they made their selection.

Lost in calls for the president to resign is the very recent revelation that over $17.2 million has been paid over decades to settle complaints, many regarding sexual harassment, against congressmen. Supposedly that fund is to be eliminated, but this just raises the question, Why did it ever exist? Female legislators could be held to have colluded in this travesty. After all, they were aware of it and did not disclose its existence until just days ago.

The Obama/Clinton machine worked overtime to sabotage Mr. Trump’s campaign. More than a year later, their actions continue. But Mr. Trump won. The opposition needs to get over it and work with the president to focus on the serious challenges facing this country, the most pressing being national security.
