Director Clint Eastwood has reportedly won an appeal to overturn the R-rating on his latest film, ’The 15:17 to Paris,’ which follows the true story of three American men who thwarted a terrorist attack on a Paris-bound train more than two years ago.
A source told The Hollywood Reporter that the Classification and Rating Administration had initially given the film an R-rating due to its pivotal train attack scene, which it described as “a sequence of violence and bloody images.”
But Mr. Eastwood, representing the film on behalf of Warner Bros., was successful in appealing the rating, THR reported.
“The 15:17 to Paris,” which stars the real-life heroes Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos and Spencer Stone, will hit theaters on Feb. 9 with a PG-13 rating.
Actors Jenna Fischer, Judy Greer and Ray Corasani will also appear in the film, which is based on the 2016 book, “The 15:17 to Paris: The True Story of a Terrorist, a Train, and Three American Heroes,” authored by the heroes themselves and Jeffrey E. Stern.
