EMPIRE, Colo. (AP) - The Latest on the fatal crash of a truck into an overpass on Interstate 70 in Colorado (all times local):

8:10 p.m.

A stretch of Interstate 70 in Colorado’s mountains is back open after a truck crashed into an overpass, killing one person.

The truck crossed the median into oncoming lanes of traffic and hit a pillar of an overpass about 40 miles west of Denver near the town of Empire at around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Westbound lanes reopened at about 3 p.m., and eastbound lanes reopened shortly before 8 p.m.

Colorado State Patrol Trooper Josh Lewis says a man who is believed to be the driver was killed in the crash. A woman who was also in the truck was seriously injured. Drugs or alcohol don’t appear to be factors in the crash.

Two other vehicles were damaged in the crash, but no one else was injured.

It doesn’t look like the bridge suffered any serious damage.

Westbound lanes on a stretch of Interstate 70 in Colorado’s mountains are back open after a truck crashed into an overpass, killing one person.

The truck crossed the median into oncoming lanes of traffic and hit a pillar of an overpass about 40 miles west of Denver near the town of Empire at around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The truck is wedged under the bridge just beyond the eastbound lanes and that side of the highway won’t fully reopen until the truck is removed. So far it doesn’t look like the bridge suffered any serious damage.

Colorado State Patrol spokesman Trooper Josh Lewis says a man who is believed to be the driver was killed in the crash. A woman who was also in the truck was seriously injured. Drugs or alcohol don’t appear to be factors in the crash.

Two other vehicles were damaged in the crash but no one else was injured.
