The Washington Redskins put tight end Jordan Reed and two others on injured reserve on Tuesday.
Reed appeared in a career-low six games for the Redskins this season and has dealt with a number of injuries. For the last six games, Reed has been dealing with a hamstring strain, which prevented him from practicing.
With the Redskins 5-8 and shut out of the playoffs, Washington made the call to shut him down for the year and have him get fully healthy in the offseason.
Reed finished with 27 catches for 211 yards.
Besides Reed, the Redskins also placed running back Byron Marshall (hamstring) and Chris Carter (broken fibula) on IR. Both suffered injuries Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, and Carter will need surgery.
The Redskins signed running back Kapri Bibbs, linebackers Otha Peters and Peter Robertson off their practice squad.
Washington added linebacker Alex McCalister, running back Dare Ogunbowale and safety Orion Stewart onto their practice squad.
