CHARLSTON, S.C. (AP) - Joe Chealy scored 20 points with four 3-pointers and five assist as Charleston defeated Division II North Greenville 92-60 on Sunday to run its winning streak to five.
Ten players scored for the Cougars (7-2), with Cameron Johnson adding 12 points, Grant Riller and Marquise Pointer 11 each, Nick Harris scored nine with 12 rebounds. Charleston’s 92 points is a season high.
Pointer and Jaylen McManus hit back-to-back 3s to spark a 10-0 run giving Charleston a 25-14 lead midway through the opening half and the Cougars pushed it to 53-33 by halftime. Charleston knocked down 13 treys in the game and ended up shooting 52 percent from the floor overall (31 of 60).
Jalon Cokley led the Crusaders (3-8) with 15 points, while DJ Brooks scored 13.
The larger, deeper Charleston team outrebounded North Greenville 41-31, and its bench outscored the Crusaders’ 29-10.
