Tourists visiting the nation’s capital on Wednesday were treated to a bizarre sight when a giant inflatable “Trump” chicken was deployed near the White House.
President Trump may be on a working vacation in Bedminster, New Jersey, but that did not stop documentary filmmaker Taran Singh Brar from holding a White House protest that captured national headlines.
Images of a chicken with a Trump-like coiffure spread on social media and then to news outlets across the nation.
“We are out here to criticize our president for being weak and ineffective as a leader and being too afraid to release his tax returns, too afraid to stand up to Putin, and now engaged in a game of chicken with Kim Jong Un,” Mr. Brar told the Washington Examiner. “Yet he wants a military parade in D.C. It’s all incongruous, and we are here to make fun of him for that.”
Mr. Brar’s protest came just one day after the president issued a warning to North Korea that “fire and fury” would rain down upon the nation if the Kim regime threatened the U.S. with its nuclear missile program.
The filmmaker told the newspaper that a permit request for his 10-foot-tall chicken was “slow-walked” until Tuesday by the National Park Services.
