NEW YORK (AP) - Law enforcers say a drug ring takedown has yielded $3 million worth of suspected fentanyl and heroin from a Manhattan apartment and a car used by an Uber driver.
A Drug Enforcement Administration lab is analyzing the narcotics seized Friday on the Upper West Side.
DEA Special Agent in Charge James J. Hunt calls fentanyl “manufactured death.” Dealers mix the highly dangerous drug with heroin in varying proportions.
City Special Narcotics Prosecutor Bridget Brennan said Monday that some of the drug envelopes were stamped with the brand name “Uber.” The driver was among four people arrested.
