ROCKLAND, Maine (AP) - If there’s ever a bad time to forget the butter, this is it.
The 70th Maine Lobster Festival is getting underway in earnest this weekend in Rockland, Maine. Festival-goers are expected to consume some 20,000 pounds of lobster during the event, which is the social event of the year in the state’s central coast.
Saturday’s festivities include The Big Parade on Rockland’s Main Street. The parade is typically one of the most well-attended pieces of the festival, which began on Wednesday and runs through Sunday.
The Outlaws are Saturday’s headlining entertainment. They are known for the song “Green Grass and High Tides.” Rockland offer lots of both of those things.
