CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Bulls have hired former Michigan State star Shawn Respert as director of player development.

The Spartans’ career scoring leader, Respert is a longtime NBA assistant coach who also has worked in scouting. He most recently was a regional scout and assistant coach with the Memphis Grizzlies from 2013-16. He previously worked with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Houston Rockets.

The Bulls also announced Thursday that Nate Loenser will join coach Fred Hoiberg’s staff after serving as head coach of the Windy City Bulls, while Charlie Henry will coach the G League affiliate.
