BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (AP) - Norfolk Southern says three of its railroad employees and two contract workers have been injured after two machines used in track maintenance collided on one of its rail lines in West Virginia.

Media outlets report five workers were taken to a Bluefield hospital as a precaution after the accident Monday. None of the injuries were believed to be life threatening.

Norfolk Southern spokesman Jonathan Glass says the machines collided on a section of track near Bluefield.

The workers were performing regular track maintenance. The company is investigating the cause of the accident.
