LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - An investigation into the University of Louisville’s foundation includes deleted documents from the computer of ousted university President James Ramsey.
The Courier-Journal reports a forensic audit found a hard drive used by Ramsey had been erased.
Among the documents being sought by the attorney general’s department of criminal investigations are copies of emails between Ramsey, former foundation secretary Kathleen Smith and ex-chief financial officer Jason Tomlinson.
In seeking the contents of Ramsey’s computer in late June, department commissioner John Moberly said access to the hard drive was “necessary for a complete review of all matters” related to the foundation.
The audit found the foundation lost millions of dollars from the university’s endowment through excessive spending, including on compensation for Smith and Ramsey. Ramsey left last year and Smith and Tomlinson were terminated earlier this year.
