LANDOVER — Houston has been weighing on the minds of several Washington Redskins over the past few days, as Hurricane Harvey has come through and caused massive damage to the city that, at one point or another, they called home.
Left tackle Trent Williams, who lives in Houston during the offseason and owns a gym there, said Sunday that most of his family had evacuated and, as far as he knew, everyone was safe.
Williams is from Longview, Texas, farther north, and said most of his family had evacuated to that area.
“The power is off, it’s kind of hard to get in contact with people but for the most part, most of the flooding is in the inner city and most of the people I know live on the outside,” Williams said.
Kicker Dustin Hopkins, who grew up near Houston and went to Clear Lake High School there, also said his family was safe and offered prayers for those still trying to flee, find shelter or salvage their belongings.
My family is safe but others in Houston are hurting. I hope people will #prayforhouston as well as aid where they can. #hurricaneharvey2017

Defensive lineman Joey Mbu, who went to the University of Houston, tweeted that Hurricane Harvey had been on his mind all day Sunday.
Not gonna lie, Houston was on my mind the whole game
