FALMOUTH, Mass. (AP) - Fire officials say a 4-year-old boy has died after he was pulled from a campground swimming pool in Massachusetts.

Falmouth Fire Capt. Ryan Gavin tells The Cape Cod Times that rescuers were called to the Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins around 1 p.m. Saturday for a report of a boy unresponsive in a pool.

Gavin says the boy was pulled from the water and bystanders started performing CPR. He was then taken to Falmouth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Falmouth police referred questions to state police, who were not immediately available to comment.
