PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - The founder of a lobster restaurant chain is advocating for a new lobster emoji - launching an online petition in support of the digital crustacean.

Luke Holden, founder of the Luke’s Lobster restaurant chain, says he launched a Change.org petition Tuesday under the title “Let’s Make the Lobster Emoji Happen.” The Portland Press Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2wIHyE9 ) the lobster emoji is under consideration for release in 2018 by the Unicode Consortium, the nonprofit governing body responsible for determining which emojis get added each year.

Holden says he would like to see the lobster take a place alongside the dozen other sea creatures available in emoji form.
