SYLVESTER, Ga. (AP) - A Georgia couple who work as police officers have been arrested on charges related to child abuse.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in a news release that 47-year-old Tracy Jones and 36-year-old Rosemary Jones were arrested Tuesday in Sylvester following an investigation into the alleged mistreatment of the couple’s adopted children.

Each suspect is charged with two felony counts of cruelty to children in the first degree. Rosemary Jones was also charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of false imprisonment.

Tracy Jones works for the Jacksonville Police Department. Rosemary Jones is an officer with the Poulan Police Department.

Both were booked into the Worth County Jail. It’s unclear if they have a lawyer.
