ATLANTA (AP) - A Virginia woman who police say left her dog in a hot car while inside a Buffalo Wild Wings at an Atlanta mall has been arrested.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports jail records show 24-year-old Dominique Nicole Brown was booked into Cobb County Jail on a charge of animal cruelty last Thursday.

A Cobb County police incident report says an officer arrived about 2:45 p.m. that day to find the 5-year-old Yorkshire Terrier named Kingston locked in the car at Cumberland Mall. The 6-pound (3-kilogram) dog was freed, and the officer determined the average temperature inside the car was 113 degrees.

County animal control officers took custody of Kingston, but did not respond to the newspaper’s query as to if he remained there Tuesday.

It’s unclear if Brown has a lawyer.
